How many times have you thrown the roots of used shallots in the bin?
Well next time, save them for the kids to plant. They grow back again!

| get an old pot and some soil then hand it over to the kids |

| and who would have thought, the chickens love shallots too! |
 |
| get the kids to poke a hole |
 |
| then push shallot root first in the hole |
 |
| keep poking |
 |
| a bit of water |
 |
| wash hands and job done! |
 |
