Sew a Card!

We have a wedding to go to in a few days, and silly me bought an engagement card instead. It cost me $7.99!! What a waste of money... So I decided that I wasn't going to buy another one, I'd make one. So with the sewing machine sitting in front of me, some white cardboard, some brown cardboard rubbish from the top of a packet of something, scissors, needle and thread, sticky tape, a white pencil and a little fabric flower from my bits and pieces cupboard.. I made a card.

the swirly line at the top is directly sewn on by the sewing machine
the flower is hand sewn through the inside of the card
congratulations is handwritten on scrap cardboard, stuck on with mounted sticky tape

it's simple and textured, I really like it!
Sew some texture onto your next card. Be creative and use stuff you have lying around. Use different coloured thread, sew a massive fabric flower on the front?? Cut strips of scrap left over material and patchwork bits on with the sewing machine or hand sew? How fun, soooo many things could be done.

Email me a photo of your own card you make if you give this a go.. I'd love to see it :)
